Sandor Fox of Cohocton NY bagged this gnarly 9 point while hunting in Steuben county early Saturday morning.
“My stand is about 20 yards off the edge of a cornfield. It was 8:15am and bitter cold so I decided to pack up and head in. I un-nocked my arrow and stood up to start climbing out of my stand when I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. A buck stepped out of the brush about 70 yards away from me so I re-nocked my arrow and sat back down.
When the buck got about 40-45 yards away, he stopped and made a scrape under an overhanging branch. After tending the scrape for a few minutes he continued towards me until he was at 18 yards broad side which made for a clean shot. He ran a few hundred yards before crawling into a thicket where my son and I found him a little while later.”
